The raid was conducted by joint personnel from various agencies, including the Transportation Sub-agency and Social Sub-agency, Satpol PP, police and army.
The crackdown began with a joint briefing led by Central Jakarta’s Assistant for Governmental Affairs, Prasetyo Kurniawan, at the Gambir Station side of the Monas.
Joint Operation Tackles 456 Illegal Parking ViolatorsAccording to Prasetyo, the operation—which aims to enhance convenience for road users—focused on Jalan KH Mas Mansyur, stretching from the front of the Tanah Abang Market Blok A building to the U-turn under the overpass adjacent to the Intiland building, and returning to Tanah Abang Station.
"Illegal parking and unauthorized attendants in several vulnerable areas of Tanah Abang significantly disrupt traffic flow and create widespread disorder," he expressed.
He continued that these operations will be conducted on a regular basis to ensure public compliance in using designated parking facilities.
Civil Servant Investigator for the Central Jakarta Transportation Sub-agency, Heri Sugiarto reported that 186 vehicles were sanctioned during the operation.
The breakdown includes 24 motorcycles impounded using net-lift trucks, four cars towed, and 158 vehicles (150 motorbikes and eight cars) penalized by having their tire valves removed.
To redeem vehicles confiscated in the net-hauling operation, owners must visit the Central Jakarta Transportation office with proof of ownership and will be required to settle a traffic ticket issued by the police.
"We also detained three rogue parking attendants across three different sites," he noted.
